What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced "ray-kee") is a Japanese term usually translated as "Universal Life Force". It is made up of two ideograms; Rei meaning "Universal" and Ki meaning "Life Force". However the Bhuddists refer to it differently - "The Indomitable Power of Being".

Reiki is based on the premise that there is a higher power (unlike religions, it does not then attempt to identify it) of which we are all part. We can access this life force, channel and then direct it in healing.

What teaching experience does 'Train to Heal' have and what is its background?

Train to Heal^TM has been created by Helen Wilkins who has been in the training industry since 1996.

All the courses have been written and created by her and she also provides training in person.  To find out more about the company and information about her background please click here. 

I just want to provide this therapy for myself, family and friends.  Are these courses right for me?   

Yes.  All these courses are provided for people that are looking to just provide the therapy for themselves, family and friends as well as people that are thinking about becoming full or part time therapists.

However, there are additional courses available to help prospective therapists get started in providing these therapies to paying clients which are aimed at the logistics of advertising, building clients bases, etc. 

Will I receive a certificate at the end of the course? 

Yes, all courses are certified and upon completion of the specified criteria, you will be issued a certificate.  This will be sent in the post.  

Prior to the certificate being issued, you will be asked to provide the correct name and spelling that you wish to appear on it.

If any courses do no provide a certificate on completion, it will be stated on the course description prior to purchasing.

Will I be able to practice professionally once I have completed the course? 

Yes.  For the majority of the courses available, once you have completed the necessary criteria and received a certificate, you will be able to practice in your given discipline.

For the few courses where you will not be able to, it will be stated on the course description prior to purchasing.

There are also additional courses available to help prospective therapists get started in providing these therapies to paying clients which are aimed at the logistics of advertising, building clients bases, etc. 

Will I be able to get insurance for my discipline? 

Yes.  On completion of your course, details of an insurance company will be provided which will allow you to cover for the discipline as well as the option to add addition disciplines on as you acquire them.

However, if you already have cover, do check with them to see if you can add the course on to your own policy.
